Terms of Service

This is a starting-point template, not a substitute for legal advice. Have a solicitor review these terms before launch — particularly the sections on fees, liability, and the boat sale process itself, given real money and legal ownership of vessels are involved.

1. What Loveboats is

Loveboats is operated by Zeilen Search Ltd (company number 16654027), a company registered in England and Wales, registered office at 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, United Kingdom, EC2A 4NE.

Loveboats is an online platform connecting boat sellers and buyers, and providing brokerage services at three levels: Ad Only (self-managed listing), Assisted (marketed listing with managed enquiries), and Full service (a dedicated broker manages the sale from listing to completion).

2. Fees

Ad Only: £10 per month of active listing. This does not renew automatically — you pay £10 to list for one month, and £10 again if you choose to continue for a further month, regardless of whether the boat sells.
Assisted: a one-off fee of £200, payable at the time of listing, regardless of whether the boat sells.
Full service: a success fee of 4% of the final agreed sale price, payable only on completion of a sale. No fee is due if the boat does not sell.

Zeilen Search Ltd is not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to any of the fees listed above. If this changes, this page will be updated to show fees with VAT applied.

3. Seller responsibilities

As a seller, you confirm that you are the legal owner of the boat (or authorised to sell it), that all information and photographs you provide are accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you will disclose any known material defects, outstanding finance, or liens against the vessel.

4. Buyer responsibilities

Loveboats does not guarantee the condition, seaworthiness, or accuracy of any listing beyond what the seller has disclosed. Buyers are strongly advised to arrange an independent marine survey and sea trial before completing any purchase.

5. Loveboats' role

Under Full service, our broker acts on the seller's behalf to market the boat, manage enquiries, arrange viewings and sea trials, and support negotiation. Loveboats is not a party to the contract of sale between buyer and seller, and does not take ownership of, or title to, any vessel at any point.

6. Cancellation

An Ad Only listing simply ends when its paid month runs out, since it never renews automatically — there is nothing to cancel, and the month already paid for is non-refundable. You may withdraw an Assisted listing at any time; the fee already paid is non-refundable once the listing has gone live. Full service arrangements may be cancelled in writing; no success fee is payable unless a sale completes.

7. Limitation of liability

Loveboats is not liable for losses arising from inaccurate information provided by sellers, disputes between buyers and sellers, or the condition of any vessel. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, where such limitation is not permitted by law.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
