Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 September 2026
Loveboats ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Loveboats is operated by Zeilen Search Ltd (company number 16654027), a company registered in England and Wales, registered office at 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, United Kingdom, EC2A 4NE. For any privacy query, contact us at privacy@loveboats.io.
What data we collect
- Contact form submissions: name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Broker accounts: email address and password (stored securely, never in plain text) when a broker registers to manage listings.
- Boat listings: details you provide about a boat you're selling (specifications, price, description, photographs).
- Usage data: anonymised analytics about how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general location by country/region, device type) — we do not track individuals across other websites.
- Payment information: when you pay a listing or success fee, payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store your card details ourselves.
Why we collect it
- To respond to enquiries and provide the service you've asked for (contract necessity).
- To operate broker accounts and manage listings (contract necessity).
- To process payments for listing and success fees (contract necessity).
- To understand and improve how the site is used (legitimate interest).
- To meet legal and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
We share data only where necessary to provide the service:
- Supabase (database and authentication provider) — stores listing and account data.
- Stripe (payment processor) — handles payment card data; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Resend (email delivery) — sends enquiry notifications and saved-search alerts on our behalf.
- Formspree (form processing) — receives submissions from our contact, listing, and valuation forms.
- Netlify (website hosting) — serves the website and processes standard web request data.
- Plausible (analytics) — provides anonymised, cookieless usage statistics; only loads if you accept analytics in our cookie banner.
- Marine listing portals — if you choose Assisted or Full service, your boat's public listing details (not your personal contact details) may be syndicated to partner portals as described on our Sell page.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
International data transfers
Some of the providers listed above (including Stripe, Resend, Formspree, and Netlify) are based outside the UK, principally in the United States. Where this is the case, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK GDPR — such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the provider's own certification under an approved data protection framework — to ensure your data is protected to a UK standard wherever it is processed.
How long we keep it
We keep listing data for as long as your account is active, and contact form enquiries for up to 24 months. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see "Your rights" below), subject to any legal retention requirements (e.g. financial records).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you think we've mishandled your data
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@loveboats.io.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the site and optional analytics cookies to understand usage. See our Cookie Policy for full details and how to manage your preferences.
